CONFIRMED SAVE; Jennifer McCoy:
At about 4:15 pm, a 20-something black girl, who is 5 or 6 months pregnant, and her aunt, in a white car pulled into Choices Medical Clinic, thinking that they were at an abortion clinic. Choices Medical Clinic was closed at the time.
Jennifer McCoy went over and talked to her. The young lady wanted an abortion because she has no insurance and does not think that she can raise the child.
The young girl was on the verge of tears during the much of the time that she talked to Jennifer, and Jennifer was able to talk to her for about 45 minutes.
During the conversation, Jennifer learned a lot, and shared a lot of personal information with this young lady, and her aunt. The aunt, who was along to support the young lady's abortion, also seemed to prefer something other than an abortion to solve the problems that the young lady is experiencing.
Needing to see a Doctor, and having been unable to schedule one, Jennifer, who had an appointment with Doctor Barba early next week, called and arranged to have her appointment slot given to this young girl. Jennifer also offered to help her in any way necessary, including direct financial support.
Finally, after gaining her confidence, Jennifer referred her to "A Better Choice" since Choices Medical Clinic was closed for the day.
The young girl thanked Jennifer, and told her that she was the first person who actually helped her, since she had gotten into this bad personal situation, which includes more than just her pregnancy.
Jennifer has her name and number, and the young lady has her's, to do a follow-up as needed. |
