CONFIRMED SAVE; Carmen Wittler and Melissa & Shirley, two volunteers who were on-site in support of the 40-Days-for-Life Campaign:
(This report is taken from an e-mail from Carmen Wittler.)
Hi Mark,
I wanted to report a Confirmed Save today.
At around 10:00 a.m. a Post Office vehicle went through Tiller's gate with a new driver whom I had not seen before. As she was leaving, I stopped her at the gate to talk to her, and I informed her that she could refuse to deliver mail to this place, and that her boss shouldnt punish her for it.
As we were talking, at 10:01 a.m. A white sedan, carrying two African American women, came through the gate. One of them had some impolite comments for me.
These two women in the sedan drove around Tiller's parking lot, either looking for the entrance or looking for a place to park, and then decided to leave Tiller's parking lot, having never gotten out of their car.
As they were leaving Tiller's gate, at about 10:02 a.m., while the Post Office vehicle was still on the driveway, a red sedan with KS tags came northbound, driving real slow on Bleckley Street towards us. The red sedan was intending to come in to Tiller's parking lot, causing a minor bottle-neck of vehicles.
The driver of the red sedan was an African American woman who was on her cell phone. She couldnt get through Tillers gate because of the other two vehicles being in her way.
I took the opportunity to immediately direct her back towards Choices Medical Clinic... politely, saying that they could help her if she was willing.
Once she was in Choices parking lot, she got out of her car with an infant boy and headed into the clinic. Of course I made sure that she got into the Clinic, and that was received by the Choices Medical Clinic receptionist.
The 40-Days for Life persons praying at this time were helpful at the gate.
At 11:40 a.m., after being in Choices Medical Clinic for over an hour and a half, the African American lady, who I had directed to Choices Medical Clinic, came out of the clinic. By this Time, Donna Lampkin was on-site with me.
We both approached her and asked her about her decision. She had said that she was going to keep the baby!!!!!!!!!!
Praise be to God!
We gave her a blanket, which she accepted, but she was in a hurry to get going back to her job.
Most of the work was done by the people at Choices Medical Clinic. I just got lucky to direct her away from Tillers and God did the rest.
Thanks be to GOD!
Carmen Wittler
