CONFIRMED SAVE; Donna Lampkin:
A young Caucasian man and woman who appeared to be in their 20's came into Tiller's at about 1:25 pm. They were in a white Oldsmobile Alero with "EL" County, Kansas tags.
They did not take literature on their way in, but Donna called out to them in the parking lot, as they walked to Tiller's door, encouraging them not to kill their baby. The woman was obviously listening to Donna, but Donna did not know that at the time.
They stayed in less than an hour, then came out of Tiller's and sat in their car for about 15 minutes. Finally, they drove slowly out of Tiller's parking lot, and stopped to talk to Donna as they came out.
The lady wanted to tell Donna that they had changed their mind about having the abortion, and that they were keeping their baby. She talked freely to Donna for several minutes.
They accepted a blanket and baby clothes from Donna, but did not want to go over to Choices Medical Clinic. Rather, they told Donna that they knew of a Pregnancy Help Center near their home, where they would go in the event they needed help.
They thanked Donna for the baby blanket, and for being there at the gate.
It was an emotion packed meeting with Donna at the gate, the kind of event that gives us all inspiration to maintain our presence at Tiller's gate. |
