CONFIRMED SAVE: Just after noon, a young Caucasian couple in a vehicle with Kansas Tags (not Sedgwick County) approached Tiller's parking lot. They stopped briefly and spoke to Donna on their way in, but did not accept any printed material from Donna. They were here for a scheduled early-term abortion. The lady is only four-weeks pregnant. Donna begged them not to kill their baby, and warned them that it could be dangerous for her, but they went on into Tiller's parking lot in spite of Donna's warning.
About an hour later, they came back out of Tillers parking lot, and to Donna's surprise, this time, they stopped on the driveway and wanted to talk to her. They told Donna that they decided against having an abortion. When Donna asked what made them change their mind, they told Donna, "We got scared!"
Of course sitting in Tiller's driveway, outbound, they were looking directly at the Operation Rescue Truth-truck banner-sized photo which shows Tiller and an EMS worker, pushing a gurney carrying Christin Gilbert who died shortly thereafter. This same photo image is on the back of the Truth-truck, and was visible to them on their way in as they came south on Bleckley.
It is clear that a combination of the Truth-truck photos and Donna's verbal warnings were directly responsible for this save.
In hurried conversation with them, (before Security Guard, Carl Swinney, could come and chase them away), Donna offered them help at Choices Medical Clinic. However, this couple had already been offered help at a another Pregnancy Crisis Center which is supported by their own church, and rather than going to Choices, they plan to go back there. They accepted baby clothing and a baby blanket from Donna.
Donna credits this save entirely to the Truth-truck photos. |
