At about 10:30am Terry called and said that two older ladies (Grandmother?) came in with an extremely young - 10 to 13 year old girl. He was concerned that the young lady was being forced into having the abortion by the adults.
I called Edgemoor Police Station, (Officer Demby is back) - and he directed me to call 911. I called 911, and they took information from me, and agreed to go and check it out.
About 40 minutes later, I got a call from Officer Zerr. Officer Zerr said that she had checked out the situation, and that this was NOT a case of a girl being forced into having the abortion against her will. Then she went on to say that she was filing "FALSE Police Report charges against me!" I answered all her questions about SSN, date and place of birth etc. Then I asked her what was the age of the girl and if rape charges would be filed. At that point she admitted that she had not even gone in and talked to the girl, and therefore had not way of knowing that this was not a case of the adults forcing the young girl into an abortion. I mentioned Attorney General Phill Kline's position, and she made a negative remark about Phill Kline. I asked for a supervisor, and she hung up saying: "This conversation is over."
I got in contact with Officer Wolf, demanding that someone go in and check on the young girl. After keeping me on hold for a long time, he came back to the phone and told me that everything was under control, and that he had to move on to another phone call.
I called Police Chief Norman Williams, but was put in contact with 2nd in command, Officer Stolz instead. We had a long conversation, and he said that he is currently looking into establishing a policy for matters like this, working with the Attorney General's office. |
